For the D-SEND#2, an innovative experimental supersonic airplane(S3CM: S-cube Concept Model) is designed using JAXA’s proprietary low-boom design technology. The airplane generates a shaped boom signature both from the front and end of the airplane. The airplane is dropped from an altitude of 30km and glides over the sonic boom measurement system at Mach 1.3 and a flight-path angle of 50 degrees.
