For the D-SEND project, JAXA developed the Airborne Blimp Boom Acquisition(ABBA) system to measure the shaped boom signatures without distortion by atmospheric turbulence in the D-SEND drop tests. Some flight tests using an actual jet airplane were conducted as a system check. The sonic boom data above the ground without the atmospheric turbulence effects are thought to be valuable.

The D-SEND Database provides the simulated airplane configuration as well as the flight profile data and sonic boom data obtained in three flight tests conducted in September 2009, September 2010, and May 2011.
